I first visited Whitby in 2015. I had always wanted to visit the place due to its connection to my favourite vampire and incarnation of his story…Dracula by Bram Stoker. I wanted to see the abbey and churchyard and its surroundings and experience why it inspired Stoker to include both sites in his book. I quickly became captivated by the place that I returned again in 2017.

The Big Three, Paris, France
Much like the Magnificent Seven Cemeteries of London, Paris also has its own collection of large garden cemeteries. Often referred to as ‘The Big Three‘ these cemeteries were built on what was once the outskirts of Paris with a similar historical evolution to their London counterparts.

The Magnificent Seven, London, UK
Here on Dead Good Travel you might see reference to ‘The Magnificent Seven’ a lot. As a a born and bred Londoner, I’m more than familiar with these seven cemeteries (I was brought up almost on top of one of them). I’m not talking about the 1960s (or most recently 2016) Western films, but a group of Victorian cemeteries situated in the London boroughs.
